Terra Sole Nurseries

Growing Everything Under the Sun

Terra Sole was founded in 2004 by John and Sherry Hall with the goal of experimenting and growing native plants, unusual plants and drought tolerant plants that are adapted to our dry summer climate. We push the limits on water use in our test gardens and use low impact planting and growing methods.  And, we share what we learn with our customers!  We grow a large variety of native and unusual plants some of which are old-fashioned and some are hot new introductions.  And, lots of good old standby's in between! We grow our plants as sustainably as possible. Our snails are hand-collected and our containers are recycled. The birdbaths in the nursery encourage bad bug predation by our feathered friends and our weeds are hand-pulled.  And, we have the dirt under our fingernails to prove it! John & Sherry Hall = true Plant-a-Hallics!

Water?  Plants? Our Philosophy:

Most plants look best with a little water during the dry season.  We test to see how much drought our unusual and native plants can take and still look good in the garden.  We also experiment with California natives and other drought tolerant plants for disease, cold and wildlife compatibility.  To create a truly diverse place, we mix our natives with our other plant treasures and enjoy a variety of textures, colors and wildlife in the garden.

Lavenders look great with very little water!
